Hi, I'm Maria!

I have loved drawing, painting, music and performing arts since I was a child. Even though I clearly had an artistic soul dormant in me, life arranged things a little differently and I did not follow the path of an artistic career.

I studied biology, ran a photography business, home schooled my three children, worked as a teacher at primary school. Disappointment from traditional education led me to study alternative pedagogy, which led me to an interest in psychology in a broader context. Curiosity and the desire to learn are my qualities that have not left me throughout my life and I believe they never will. :-)

For a long time I thought that my two greatest passions - biology and art - had no intersection, that I had to choose one of them. Then I discovered art therapy. It seemed to connect everything I loved! And when I saw how amazing it worked, I knew immediately that it was right for me.

Although my life path has been quite winding, I am grateful for it. I know that every situation had its meaning. And I also learned that it is often the painful experiences that make us grow the most as individuals.

I believe in holistic approach, I see a person as a wholeness of body, soul and spirit, and I believe that everything is connected to everything. My wish is to use my knowledge and experiences, share them and show others how creativity can help us grow.
